Efforts of Agroforestry

At the Bali Bio Diversitas Environmental Foundation approved by the Indonesian government, we conduct agroforestry activities in Bangri County (Kintamani Plateau), Bali. In Mayuzumi Seminar, a faculty member, Mayuzumi, creates a specific nonprofit corporation in the Japanese branch of the Bali Bio Diver Citas Foundation, and incorporates this activity into seminar activities.
Agroforestry is aimed at solving simultaneous problems of the environment and the economy in areas with agriculture, forestry and poverty problems.
Agroforestry (forestry agriculture) project aims at stable revenue opportunities throughout the year, aiming at cultivating basic agricultural crops and promoting small industrialization using agricultural crops (idea of the One Village One Product Movement) It continues.

The place which is carrying out agroforestry activities is the Quintamari Plateau in Bangri County, Bali, and in the area around the plateau of the altitude of 1000 meters, it is a region where water can not be obtained from long ago.
Special products in Banli Province include coffee, oranges, cows, pigs, etc.
In Banli province, in recent years, due to the unprecedented timber acquisition to tourism development and furniture material housing materials, deforestation and deterioration of its water source environment are regarded as problems.
On the site, the land after logging is neglected and leads to forest degradation. In addition, as a local citizen’s industry, cultivation of mandarin orange and coffee was done unplanned, and the land has become thin. Therefore, we got funds from grant fund from Japan and practiced agroforestry activities with local villagers. In this agroforestry activity, we handle more than 10 types of strawberries, radish, carrots, chili pepper etc.
